WHO
In this fun and engaging workshop, 5- to 7-year-olds will work on a wide range of foundational skills that are essential for school and daily routines. This workshop is ideal for children who benefit from:
Extra support with fine motor tasks
Difficulty sitting still or staying focused
Have sensory sensitivities or seeking behaviors
Social interaction in a fun and structured environment!
Meet our leader!
All activities are designed, created, and led by Darcie Bulger, MS, OTR/L, a licensed occupational therapist with in-depth knowledge of child development, sensory integration, motor coordination, and self-regulation strategies.
Darcie will lead this year’s workshop. She’s super excited about using her clinical knowledge to create a fun, supportive environment where kids can build confidence, improve motor skills, and grow through play while supporting each child’s unique development and success.
WHAT
This is a 4-week, occupational therapist led group designed to support sensory processing, motor coordination, and social skills through motivating play-based activities with fun themes.
Each 90-minute session targets foundational sensorimotor and social-emotional skills with the perfect blend of structure and play.
Focus areas include:
Fine motor development (e.g., finger strength, dexterity, tool use)
Coordination across different sides of the body (e.g., hand dominance, moving limbs across right vs left sides)
Eye-hand coordination and spatial awareness
Primitive Reflex Integration (e.g., STNR, ATNR,) to support postural control and motor planning
Sensory processing and regulation (e.g., how your brain manages and responds to the information your senses take in from tactile, vestibular, proprioceptive input)
Social participation (e.g., joint attention, cooperative play, turn-taking)
Strengthening these abilities helps support:
Classroom participation
(cutting, coloring, handwriting)
Independence in dressing, feeding and grooming
Confidence and self-regulation in group settings
